Our Approach ~ He Pikorua

Hui te mārama hei purapura ora

Working together to nurture and support the wellbeing and growth of mokopuna

Dr Wayne Ngata, Raukura – Chief Advisor Te Ao Māori (2019)

RTLB follow a structured process which includes three main phases

1. Pre-request for support - RTLB discuss at a liaison meeting, any learning and/or behaviour concerns within a school.

2. Request for support - Focussed on individual students learning/behaviour; groups of students; or school wide/projects. Each cluster has an equitable system for prioritising and allocating request for support on a regular basis. Cluster 39 meets weekly for allocation of any Requests for Support.

3. Practice Sequence - Once a Request for Support has been allocated, the RTLB responds by working through the practice sequence alongside the school.

What is a case?

He Pikorua in action provides a flexible approach for responding to the needs of mokopuna, whānau, educators, teams and communities, that supports the spiral of inquiry and continuous improvement.
