STAND for Childrens Service

The daily focus of STAND for Children's work, is to protect children from further trauma, support their recovery and enhance their wellbeing.

Paediatrics and Child Health

Southern DHB is responsible for publicly funded primary, community and hospital health services in the Southern DHB catchment area of Otago and Southland in New Zealand.

Child and Family Mental Health Services

This service provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for children, young people and their families who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health problems, suspected psychiatric disorders, or severe emotional and behavioural disturbance.

Otago Youth Wellness

A free community-based service for the Dunedin area that works alongside young people and their family/whānau to create positive change. We help strengthen what is working well in the lives of young people, whilst addressing the issues that may be impacting negatively on them.


Public Health Nurse

Public health nurses (PHNs) are registered nurses whose work and focus is on community health and wellbeing. Public health nurses do health assessments and disease prevention activities in schools and community settings.

Oranga Tamariki

Works to protect children and young people. Its services include: working with children, young people and their families. funding organisations to support communities to protect and help children

Mirror Counselling Services

Mirror Counselling Whakaata Tohu Tohu supports children and young people aged 3 to 19 years of age who are suffering the effects of:

  • emotional, behavioural or mental health issues

  • personal, relationship and whānau challenges

  • coping with the effects of trauma, abuse and violence

  • or needing help with social skill development

Strengthening Families

Provides a way for families to get co-ordinated access to services. by promoting cooperation between community organisations, social services and government agencies, everyone involved works more effectively and efficiently with the families/ whānau involved in the process.

  • Anglican Family Care is a social services agency that has served the people of Dunedin and Otago since 1970.

  • Our main focus is children, young people and their families, but we also provide services that support individuals in need.

Stop

STOP Children’s intervention service is aimed at helping primary and intermediate aged children who have engaged in concerning sexual behaviour. The service is aimed at helping these children and their parents to gain the understanding, knowledge and relevant skills to prevent further sexually harmful behaviour from occurring.
